Race day information

Runners / Spectators notes

  • The start and finish will be on Hook Meadow and toilets will be available in the village hall
  • Parking will be available at the village hall. If the car park is full there will be places available throughout the village – it will only be a short distance to walk to the start
  • If coming from the village please walk if possible
  • Please keep the road between the village hall and Farm Lane free of cars as runners will be passing along here!
  • The routes will take in the picturesque village of Crondall and surrounding rural views
  • Race numbers will be provided upon arrival so please allow time before your race to get them and attach on

The 2k Junior race (start 11 am)

  • The 2k route is an out and back route from Hook Meadow
  • Please beware of runners returning in the opposite direction and pass on the left
  • Some paths in the field are fairly uneven so please be careful
  • We will wait for the 2k race to finish before starting the other races

5k / 10k races (start 11.30 am) The course routes can be seen by clicking here

  • The 10k course will pass along approximately 2k of country roads – please run on the right-hand side of the road
  • There will be marshals along the route and at junctions for your safety – they will give you directions
  • The road is open to traffic so please be aware of traffic at all times
  • Water will be provided (in paper cups) just before the turn onto the bridleway from Crondall Lane
  • In the event of injury or emergency please contact the nearest marshal
  • We will operate a funnel at the finish to record your number
  • Please stay in the order you finished in the funnel and listen to the marshal’s instructions
  • Please keep moving into this funnel once you have crossed the finish line

Prizes and Medals

  • Medals will be provided to all entrants of the junior race, and a cup for the male and female winners of each race

Aiming to be plastic free

  • The David Hoyle Foundation is committed to protecting the environment and as such, we aim to keep waste to a minimum

Food and beverages

  • There will be a bar on the day as well as burgers, tea, coffee and ice cream stalls
  • Please stay for a drink and a bite to eat afterwards!

Entries on the day

  • Entries on the day are welcomed subject to us being within our maximum allowable limits for each race.
